Transitions
This weekend, we spoke on the topic of career transitions at the Net Impact Summit in NYC and fielded a lot of questions about finding purposeful work. From thoughts
on understanding tradeoffs (between money and impact) to describing your archetype through your resume (“I’m a creator.” “I’m a relationship builder.”), the conversation covered the spectrum.
But what we found most powerful were the stories from numerous folks that had made the change. There was no single way to make the transition: some laid groundwork for a career change for years, others took advantage of an opportunity that suddenly came their
way, still more described switching careers, switching back, and then trying it a third time.
At Project X, we don’t believe there is any “right” way to pivot into a purposeful job. All we know for sure is that courage, community and persistence are the best ways to get you moving in new directions.
